The industrial production growth registered in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) in November continued in December 2020. This trend was noted by the experts of FANU Vostokgosplan after analyzing the data of the Federal State Statistics Service.
The index of physical volume of industrial production of the FEFD in December was 105.5% to the level of the previous month, in November – 105.3%. “Such dynamics of the indicator allowed to consolidate the positive direction of the trend for the recovery of this sector of the macro-region’s economy,” the analysts note.
According to their data, since September 2020, industrial production in the FEFD “gradually recovered, slowing the rate of decline in annual terms each month.”
“During this period, a reduction in the rate of negative growth of industrial production was observed in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Kamchatka Krai and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. At the same time, industry in the Republic of Buryatia and the Magadan region showed steady growth,” explain the experts.
In general, it is worth noting that by the end of 2020, the volume of industrial production in the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as in the whole country, decreased, amounting to 95.9% to the level of 2019 (in Russia – 97.1%).
“The industry of Khabarovsk Krai – 99.1%, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug – 98.1% and Zabaikalsky Krai – 97.6% suffered the least losses relative to the level of 2019,” say analysts.
The growth of industrial production was noted in two subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. So in the Magadan region it was 105.6% to the level of 2019, the increase in the index is due to the increase in mining and concentration of metal ores.
Another region demonstrating positive dynamics is the Republic of Buryatia. The 7.4% growth in industrial production in this region is due, on the one hand, to an increase in mining (coal, ore gold, uranium, raw materials for construction materials), and, on the other hand, to an increase in production in the manufacturing industries. We are talking about an increase in the production of food and beverages, vehicles and equipment, pulp and paper products, as well as reusable protective suits, robes, coveralls, protective fabric masks.
