National Development Programme for the Russian Far East will be sent for approval in three months

The draft National Program for the Development of the Far East until 2025 was presented at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council of the Russian Federation on the 4th of September during the 5th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The meeting was conducted by the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

«Of course, the final version of the Program will require thorough refinement, the detailed analysis of all aspects and proposed measures, especially in terms of sources and volumes of financing, approaches to management decisions. People do not need declarations and good wishes. All plans must be realistic and feasible, and therefore supported by adequate resources, including budgetary funds. Taking into account the positions of the regions and today’s conversation, I ask you to submit to me a comprehensively calculated, agreed upon document for approval in three months», – Vladimir Putin said.

The draft program was prepared by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic on behalf of the President.

The structure of the draft National Program includes the development directions of the entire Far East, such as increase of investment attractiveness of key branches of economy, development of backbone infrastructure and implementation of major infrastructure projects, development of territories with special economic potential. It is also a solution to education and healthcare, culture and demographics, housing construction and the formation of a comfortable urban environment issues. Municipal and regional authorities, representatives of business and the expert community, public organizations together with the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation participated in the discussion and preparation of the project.
